Archdiocese Of New York To Commemorate 9/11 With Gay Men's Chorus??

First, thanks to Pewsitter for this alert.

Here it is.  At New York's Church of St Paul the Apostle, there will be a musical commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attack.  However, the "rememberance concert" will be performed by a gay chorus - as evidenced on their website.

The announcement for this profanation is repeated in the church's bulletin. This church, in hosting this chorus, is lending a forum to a group that admits to its purpose of celebrating the gay lifestyle.  A perusal of the bulletin will make plain that this church makes a habit of facilitating sin.  Notice that it has an "Out At St Paul Group" that seems to have the fostering of a sinful and dangerous lifestyle as its self-styled "misson".  And yes, that "Out" website does link to that of the Human Rights Commission!  You can go further down to see the "centering prayer" and yoga.  They even take trips to Atlantic City to support that city's despicable gambling industry.

This bunch will most likely be performing in front of the Blessed Sacrament, offering insult to Our Lord Himself.  This concert will make a mockery of the tragedy of 9/11 by lending legitimacy to a dangerous and sinful lifestyle.

Nine years ago, a number of us discovered similar plans afoot locally.  To commemorate the first anniversary of the attack, St Mary's Church in Rockville was slated to have a number of speakers address the congregation after a Mass.  One of them was rabidly pro-abortion US Congresswoman Connie Morella.  When we got wind of that, we called/faxed/emailed both the pastor and the DC chancery and advised them that if Morella wasn't disinvited, they could expect a picket.  Happily, they saw the errors of their ways and disinvted her, so our picket was not necessary.  I call upon the faithful Catholics of New York to take similar stands and engage in similar actions.

We can and will assist you by making our protests heard.  We must stand for the sanctity of that Church and for the teachings of Our Lord via the Magisterium.  Here is contact information for the church.   Here is contact information for the Archdiocese of New York

By the way - as I look at the homepage of the chorus, it seems that they profaned yet another Catholic Church this past May - the Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament.  When we contact the archdiocese, we need to ask what's up with this bunch being granted admittance to this church as well.

Escort Misbehavior - August 27, 2011

From time to time, I'll have occasion to post videos of incidents involving misbehaviors of those who call themselves "pro-choice clinic escorts".  You may already have seen some of them.  Well here are two incidents that happened two days ago - this past Saturday.

The first involves a pro-life activist who is calling out to a woman headed into the building.  Notice how the "escort" is jumping in her face as she does so, and as she moves to get away from him.  I would call that aggression.  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

This next one shows the same escort.  He's just being silly here. I suppose he thought the people praying the Rosary would really be intimidated by him taking pictures with his cell phone. Whatever!! Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

Yippee! Changes To The Catholic Standard!! Goodie-Gumdrops!!

Well, maybe I'm being just a tad too enthusiatic.  My colleague at A Washington DC Catholic has detailed the changes.  Rather than post a long comment over there, I'll just post my feedback below.  The numbers correspond to his original points.
  1. Will the subscription prices drop accordingly?  I hope so; I don't feel like paying for "glossy stuff and bolder headlines."
  2. How about real news in the Catholic world? That would be far preferable to the periodic kiss-ups to pro-abortion personalities simply because they are powerful and they toss a few crumbs towards the chancery every now and then.
  3. What does that mean?
  4. Less articles from the Catholic News Service (USCCB propaganda machine) would be the improvement. Perhaps they can tap into the Wanderer or EWTN - or our blogs! (stop laughing immediately!)
Now notice what's missing from this "list of improvements".  How about a restoration of the letters to the editor? That's the feature that "mysteriously" disappeared from the Standard's pages when Cardinal McCarrick made plain that he would disobey Canon 915.  I have it on good source that at that time, the Standard was flooded with hundreds, if not thousands of letters decrying the Cardinal's statement.  Mine was in that pile.  Not one was published.  Even some of the progressives in the DC chancery who had some sense of honesty opposed the disingenuous decision to ignore our letters - a decision that continues even to the time of this writing.

(Note to the Standard staff: the cessation of your "letters to the editor" was a major factor in my decision to start both the earlier wesite and this blog.)

To summarize:  If that is what the Catholic Standard means by "major changes", it will continue its downward spiral to oblivion.  It is already irrelevant; there aren't too many of us who take the Standard seriously in terms of finding out what is really happening in the Church.  If it truly wishes to reverse its self-destructive course, it will cease being a de facto USCCB mouthpiece with all its progressive panderings.  It will join the fight to expose progressive machinations within the Church rather than maintaining silence about them.  Somehow I don't think that is their mindset.

August 17th Conference In Baltimore To "Normalize" Child Rape

A conference last week in Baltimore, hosted by the group B4U-Act, was held "to discuss key issues regarding the entry for pedophilia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association." That is from their website.  B4U-Act exists as "a unique collaborative effort between minor-attracted people and mental health professionals to promote communication and understanding between the two groups."   Got that?  Notice how the language of that statement places people with dangerous predelictions on a par with mental health professionals?  That's by design!  And notice the new politically-correct buzz word.  Minor-attracted people!  Ladies and gentlemen, if they're acting on these impulses, these "minor-attracted people" are dangerous perverts who seek to prey upon children.  Let's not let them get away with that lame attempt to manipulate the English language.

They met last week to attempt change to the American Psychiatric Association's definition of pedophilia as a mental illness.  In the not-too-distant past, gay activists succeeded in getting the APA to drop homosexual behavior and attractions from its list of mental illnesses.  This apparently is their next target.  Read what some attendees had to say about this conference.

My friend at Les Femmes has already written a good bit about this subject.  See:
http://lesfemmes-thetruth.blogspot.com/2011/08/bishops-adviser-adresses-pedophile.html
http://lesfemmes-thetruth.blogspot.com/2011/08/pedophilia-next.html
http://lesfemmes-thetruth.blogspot.com/2011/08/first-hand-report-from-pedophile.html

But wait!  There's more!  There is another organization that is working to prime our children for sexual exploitation.  They are attempting to chide parents into believing that children are naturally precocious sexually!  What is that organization?  The US Department of Health and Human Services, led by pro-abortion "catholyc" Kathleen Sebelius.  Here's the link to which the Foxnews article refers.  It all seems so subtle on the surface, but we need to be aware of this growing threat to our children.

Gay-Rights Advocate Influences USCCB

In one of their postings yesterday, Lifesite News published a litany of the insults to the Faith proffered by John Sweeney, president emeritus of the AFL-CIO.  I link to it here.  I've commented on many of the items listed therein, but they bear repeating.  It must also be stressed that this man continues to exert considerable influence at the USCCB - particularly in the CCHD office - acting as a consultant to the USCCB's Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development.  No one who shills for the homosexual lobby has any place consulting the bishops on the shoelaces to put in their shoes, let alone "domestic justice".

Not only have I written on this man before (both here and on my earlier web page), I've led two pickets of Catholic functions at which Sweeney was specifically honored.  Present at both those events was Cardinal McCarrick.  His Eminence has displayed regretable tendencies to hang out (often flagrantly) with Catholics who support abortion and sodomy - but I digress.

Here are links from three earlier blog posts.
http://restore-dc-catholicism.blogspot.com/2011/02/and-speaking-of-zombies.html
http://restore-dc-catholicism.blogspot.com/2011/04/dissent-fest-at-catholic-university-of.html
http://restore-dc-catholicism.blogspot.com/2011/05/sweeney-gets-dressed-down-at-cua.html

When I started the website, I linked to a letter that I sent to Cardinal McCarrick, expressing concerns held not only by me, but by many faithful Catholics in the Archdiocese of Washington.  Here it is.  Note items 4, 7 and 11.  All have to do with John Sweeney; 4 & 11 describe the two picketed events.

Despite all this, John Sweeney continues to enjoy a place of considerable influence over the CCHD.  Did I say "Despite"?  Perhaps I should have said "Because of".  I no longer believe that the denizens of the USCCB are ignorant of a mole in their midst.  I now realize that they are merely welcoming the kindred spirit that they see in John Sweeney.

This is all the more reason why not only the CCHD, but the USCCB should be dismantled.  At any rate, not one red penny should be given to the CCHD second collection (for those localities who have not yet had that collection yet).

Catholics And Politics

"Catholycs" for Equality are chortling about their belief that a "majority of Catholics in Maryland stand by Governor O'Malley".  They opine in the context of O'Malley's intention to push for "gay marriage" in Maryland.  I'm not going to banter as to whether or not a "majority" of MD Catholics have swallowed the politically-correct koolaid of "gay marriage".  When one speaks of "Catholics", one can mean those who were baptized Catholic as children and that's it, those who attend Mass only on Easter and Christmas, and even those who call themselves "recovered Catholics".  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the aforegoing sub-groupings of Catholics probably would support "gay marriage" (assuming that they care one way or the other about the matter).  However, morality is never defined by consensus, but only by God's laws.

The article goes on to criticize Archbishop O'Brien for a "bad use of his time" in defending traditional marriage.  That's interesting.  If these people don't recognize a bad definition of marriage, who are they to determine whether or not the Archbishop is using his time badly?  As for the archbishop being "out of line", I suggest it is the gay activists who are "out of line" for their attempt to mangle the meaning of true marriage to suit their warped purposes.

While I certainly congratulate Archbishop O'Brien for speaking out, I do suggest that this article may indicate the results of years of neglect in teaching authentic morality and placing that before other matters, such as so-called "social justice" which is nothing more than wimpy attempts to placate progressives.  Archbishop O'Brien and Cardinal Wuerl MUST start obeying Canon 915 and deny Holy Communion to Governor O'Malley, Barbara Mikulski and all the other politicians who dare to call themselves Catholic while using their high positions to tear down authentic morality.

A Lesson In "Civility"

Bless their hearts!  The liberal left-wing progressives of the Democrat Party have given to us a priceless lesson on what they consider "civility" and "reaching across the aisle" to be.  Let's listen to Maxine Waters herself.  As you watch, notice the SEIU shirts in her audience; the wearers of those shirts are cheering her on!  A year ago last spring, they and other union-types gave to a young 14-year-old boy a "lesson" he'll never forget, as 500+ of them stampeded on the front lawn and porch of his home.

Bolstering Catholic Family Life

My colleague at Threshing Grain put this on her blog.  It's a homily given during the recent feast day of Saints Joachim and Ana, who were the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary and thus the grandparents of Our Lord Jesus Christ.  He has many words of wisdom to say to us regarding Catholic family life.  Father gives us practical suggestions for bolstering family life and communicating the faith to children.

A New Consequence To "Global Warming"?

And just what might this nefarious peril, this dire threat be, that has some NASA scientists all atwitter?  Brace yourselves, for the answer to this question is so, so shocking that you might never sleep again!!

Ok, now!  Be seated and have smelling salts at the ready!  You've been warned!  The answer is (drum roll and trumpet blast, please)..

INVASIONS BY ALIENS FROM OUTER SPACE!!

(Imagine now the Twilight Zone theme playing)

Read the dire words of warning here!  I quote "Green aliens might object to the environmental damage humans have caused on Earth and wipe us out to save the planet. These scenarios give us reason to limit our growth and reduce our impact on global ecosystems. It would be particularly important for us to limit our emissions of greenhouse gases, since atmospheric composition can be observed from other planets."

Who dreams up this nonsense?  So "little green men" are coming to earth to tell us to be "little green men" or they'll zap us with their ray-guns?  Since at least some of these quacks are NASA scientists (using the word "scientist" lightly), we can only surmise that at least some of this crap is funded by our tax dollars - and at a time when our economy is going down the drain.

Actually "little green men" have invaded this planet already.  They occupy high places in academia, mainstream media, the USCCB, the White House, etc.  They're called "progressives".  We aim to retire some of these in 2012.

Chicago's Fr Dowling Sinks To New Lows

In early autumn of 2010, it appeared that the Chicago CCHD, under the leadership of Rey Flores, was instituting much-needed reform.  In cutting funding to progressive groups and extending funding to pro-life organizations, it was beginning to live up to the "Catholic" in its name.  However, such reforms were short-lived.  In November, a campaign spearheaded by Fr Larry Dowling both got Flores fired from his position and resumed the progressive slant of its funding - resulting in the defunding of the pro-life organizations.

Father Dowling has again garnered the spotlight.  He is board chair of the Illinois Center for Violence Prevention.  Lifesite News details that organization's ties to Planned Parenthood - the largest perpetrator of violence to defenseless babies.  Strange - last autumn he succeeded in stripping Catholic dollars from pro-life organizations that would have saved hundreds of babies in favor of progressive organizations.  Now we learn that he has struck hands with Planned Parenthood?  That's violence promotion, not prevention.

The Lifesite News link contains contact information for Cardinal George.  Please utilize it in your protest of this priest.

More On Soros's Stranglehood On Mainstream Media

In May I linked to reports that detail how much of the mainstream-lamebrain media is heavily influenced, if not controlled, by George Soros.  A few days ago, the Media Research Center also published a report to which I now link.  There may well be overlap between the two, but please read both and follow the links therein.  The latter contains names of prominent media personnel who occupy positions in Soros-controlled or Soros-funded entities.  It's quite eye-opening.

The tentacles of the Soros squid can be found everywhere - even within organizations that bear the name "Catholic".  Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good is one such group that comes to mind, having received $200k from the Soros-controlled Open Society Institute.  Another organization, established by the USCCB is Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLINIC).  Please read this from America's Survival, Inc. as it further emphasizes what has been previously reported on this blog - the ties that Soros has to the USCCB itself.

We Need To Follow Up Regarding Last Week's CCHD Collection

From my friends I've been hearing reports of last weekend's collection in their churches.  Not all pastors relished the distasteful task of taking this collection, but I can appreciate that they are between a rock and a hard place.  One pastor stated that the collection would be used for some parish needs.  Others announced the collection, but with disgusted grimaces on their faces.  Others could only bring themselves to mutter the words.  I can imagine that still other pastors were understandably confused by the ambiguous title given to the collection.  I can appreciate that these priests are between a rock and a hard place.  For obvious reasons, I will not divulge the churches in which these pastors undertook the collection with great reluctance and probably great disgust.

On Monday August 15th, one of my readers contacted the chancery and asked who was responsible for the way the second collection was announced.  She reached the office of Ms. Chieko Scheve, the new archdiocesan Director of Communications (who replaced Susan Gibbs, who had retired from her position).  She replied that the decision was that of Anthony Bosnick, who is both head of the Archdiocesan Legislative Network and of the Archdiocese Parish Social Ministry.  She also mentioned that the collection was meant to be a combination of two collections, that of the Catholic Communications Campaign and the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.

Well, now we have a new set of questions.
  1. If the August 13-14 second collection was intended to be a combination of two collections, why was that intention not explicitly disclosed to the parishioners in the pew?  What was announced this past Sunday was a collection for "Catholic communications and human development".  To the unsuspecting ear, it sounds like one entity.  The word "Catholic" is mentioned only once; the word "Campaign" is omitted altogether.
  2. The actual envelope was designated as "Catholic Communication Human Development".  No hint of combination with another collection here!  The conjunctive "and" was missing.  What drove the selection of this particular phrasology?  If there would have been a convenient way to explicitly state that this collection was for two entities, the envelope would have been the perfect means.
  3. Assuming that this past collection was really for two organizations, how will the collection proceeds be divided between the two?  What individuals are overseeing the allocation of funds?  Why was no option offered to the donors to specify how they wanted their donation dollars to be allocated?  Given that the CCHD has garnered well-deserved criticism, I think it was unethical not to give the parishioner the option to divert his/her hard-earned money from that very jaded organization.
In addition to his other duties, Mr Bosnick is the Coordinator for CCHD in the Archdiocese of Washington.  That link also takes you to his contact information.  We need to contact him to make our displeasure known. We should also contact the archdicesan communications director, Ms, Chieko Scheve; her phone number is (301) 853-5340.  Of course be polite, but be plainly-spoken as well. Perhaps other diocese will take a lesson from this.

Obama Confronted With Truth - Twice!

During a bus stop in Iowa, two Tea Party activists confronted him about the Vice President calling them (and us, by extension) terrorists.  Today, Ryan Rhodes spoke with both Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin; I heard some pieces of each interview.  Mr Rhodes made repeated reference to his faith in God.  Click here if you can't see embedded video.

During the Face the Truth Tour this year, some activists from Defend Life (see right side bar) positioned themselves on Embassy Row along a route that Obama was slated to take.  Obama had to have seen the truth of what he promotes.  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

World Youth Day and YouCat

World Youth Day starts tomorrow in Madrid and runs till August 21st.  Organizers of the event plan to pass out a "youth-oriented" catechism called YouCat.  My friend at Les Femmes put up an excellent piece today critiquing YouCat.  I needn't "reinvent the wheel".  Please pop over to Les Femmes to read her piece.

Another colleague of ours in the Catholic Media Coalition mentioned that the problems enumerated by the Kolbe Foundation have been corrected; he didn't have details, however.  Assuming that all problematic elements have been expunged from YouCat, questions abound.  To wit:
  1. How did the problematic material make its way into YouCat in the first place?
  2. At what stage were the problems identified?
  3. What was the final motivation for correction of the problems?
Finally, I believe that what Les Femmes wrote in her last two sentences needs to be pondered carefully.  The name "YouCat", a pitifully obvious knock-off of YouTube, points to dangerous attitudes towards young people.  The first attitude is "youth-worship".  There seems to be an unconscious desire to keep young people young.  How often do we hear that we need the young, for they are our future?  Well that may be true, but we also need the old to lend direction and wisdom to the energy of the young.  The impetus to celebrate the young while quietly ignoring the older actually stems from the Culture of Death - the same variety that has spawned the notion that perhaps the elderly should be set aside and even euthanized.  We better watch ourselves with that slippery slope.

The second dangerous attitude, mentioned by Les Femmes, is condescension.  While "keeping them young", we also keep them immature.  With "youcat" type of kiddie-talk (or, as they put it "language suitable for young people") instead of full use of adult language, we don't challenge them to grow up and act like adults.  Read a sample for yourselves; content aside, it reads like a child's fairy tale!  I know another feature in Madrid will be "Christian rock".  Many years ago, I was a musician, although not of the "rock" variety.  However, I was trained to manipulate music to produce mental/emotional effects in the audience.  I can tell you right now (although I'll be very unpopular) that "Christian rock" is an oxymoron.  Among other things, it excites emotions so that young people tend to be directed by emotions rather than by intellect.  Speaking of intellect, YouCat will probably not be what they need to grow properly in their faith.  The regular catechism should be encouraged.  Let's start treating them like adults, to encourage them to think of themselves as adults and to act accordingly.

The DC Chancery's Despicable Game Of "Bait And Switch"

As I mentioned in the Friday post, the Archdiocese of Washington devoted its second collection this weekend to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  For the whole sordid story of the CCHD, including its chequered origins, just put that organization's name in the box with the magnifying glass.

Despite promises to reform the CCHD and its granting procedures, the steps taken have been at best token.  No real change has taken place (a report is soon forthcoming) - and the bishops know it!  That's why all over the country, dioceses are trying their darnedest to hold the collections without drawing "unwanted attention".  They're changing the dates (some had their collections last month) and/or they're obfuscating the names of the collections.

Washington DC's progressive-infested chancery attempted both tactics this weekend.  Even at today's Mass, the thing was billed as the "Catholic Communications and Human Development Campaign" - that weird amalgamation of two organizations.  However, that purple "second collection" envelope clearly said "Catholic Campaign for Human Development".  Ladies and gentlemen, that's a classic technique of deception known as "bait and switch": call it one thing early on and at the last minute change the name.  I call that a bald-faced lie, and the "responsible" individuals at the DC Chancery really should march themselves right to a confessional for pulling that stunt.

I was alerted to this rather early, and tried to spread the word; I hope I had the assistance of many of you readers.  I trust also that many others were alert enough to notice this underhanded trick of the chancery.  Therefore I hope that they deem this second collection to be a miserable flop financially.  It certainly was a flop in terms of Christian ethics.

New Dimension To The Phrase "Eat Sh#t"

Warning!  Please don't read this post if you're weak of stomach and have just eaten, or will soon have a meal!

I heard of a cockamany scheme to "convert" human feces into "edible" format.  In Japan, researcher Misuyki Ikeda was retained by Toyko Sewage to research possible ways to utilize sewage.  He thinks he did and seems to have conned a number of folks into believing it.  Because this seemed so far-fetched to me, I googled the words "Toyko Sewage Ikeda" and a quite a few links popped up.  I picked one from Manila Bulletin at random and the whole revolting theme is layed out.  They're trying to make the crap look like a typical steak.  Ikeda thinks his glop "will someday lead the culinary revolution".  In reality, it's more like "culinary revulsion".  Here's an article from Northern Virginia Magazine that links to a video of the manufacturing process.  I've seen another video that claims this whole thing is a hoax; while I'd like to believe this fellow and he does make some interesting points, I doubt his credibility.

I bet you can guess the motivational factors behind these poop burgers!  Yep!  They're supposedly "cruelty-free"!  Are you PETA types going to snarf these things up?  Bon appetit!

And of course, these things are touted as being "environmentally-friendly".  Slaughterhouses generate those big, evil "greenhouse gases"!  They help cause "global warming"!  One wonders about the processes to convert the feces to fake-steaks.  That has to make some carbon footprint, right?  After all, an exploder is used in the process.  I also understand that the steak-appearance is achieved by food coloring!  I thought food coloring was supposed to be carcinogenic; or is that an obsolete canard jettisoned for the latest politically-correct fad?

If this catches on, just think of the ensuing name changes.  The Outback Steak House might reduce their name to the Outhouse.  And McDonald's might change their "Happy Meal" to "Crappy Meal"!

When the 2012 Lenten Carbon Fast rolls around, let's examine that calendar very closely.  They may be advocating several new kinds of s@#t!  On this point I'm halfway serious.  If they're addle-brained enough to suggest usage of those mercury bulbs, they will be ditzy enough to suggest that we eat human dung to "save the planet".

Mainstream Media Helps Dick Durbin Strong-Arm A Conservative Reporter

It appears that Senator Dick Durbin gave a press conference this past Thursday on the downgrade and the current economic mess in general.  They let slip in Bill Kelly of the Washington Times.  Kelly listened to Durbin blame the Republicans, Tea Party etc for the mess.  Kelly asked Durbin if he accepted any of the blame.  Watch below to see Durbin - with the assistance of the liberal reporters there - try to blow off Kelly.  Here is more evidence why alternative media such as this blog is needed, and why the so-called "Fairness Doctrine" is a snake in the grass.

Oh, by the way.  This is the same "catholyc-in-name-only" Dick Durbin with whom Cardinal McCarrick saw fit to rub elbows in his ill-advised campaign for the DREAM Act.  The cardinal has shown a distressing propensity for hanging around immoral progressives - I wonder why!

Boycott August 13-14 Second Collection In Washington DC Archdiocese

Why?  Because it's the collection for Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) collection

You might say it sure didn't sound like it from the pulpit.  If you were confused, don't feel bad - for I believe that such confusion was desired and intended.  What you most likely heard was that it is for the "Catholic Communications and Human  Development Campaign".

Uhhh..  Wait a minute now!  There is, besides the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, something called the Catholic Communications Campaign - two different things, to be sure.  However, what we heard from the pulpit today was a most curious (and I daresay suspicious) amalgamation of those two names!   When I blogged this last month, I was unaware of the existence of the Catholic Communications Campaign.  Still, this collection just doesn't pass the smell test.  If they're merely doing both on the same Sunday, why didn't they just say so openly?  Here is the second collection schedule from the Archdiocesan web site (click this link, then click the pdf link to open it).  You'll see not only this strangely-named collection, but you'll notice that the usual November collection for the CCHD is gone.

Please take the monies you might have contributed and give them directly to a worthwhile charity, such as your local pro-life pregancy center.  Also, in next week's collection, drop a note in the basket to explain precisely why you have given no money; let this be an educational moment for the Archdiocese.  The American Life League developed cards for such purpose; here they are.

Because this collection is just one day away, I ask that you spread word of this quickly and to as many people as you possibly can.

FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS GIVE TO CCHD!

Contraception And Salvation - Final Installment

Below is the fourth and final installment on Real Catholic TV's series on contraception, featuring Dr. Martin Brenner.

Dr Brenner directs his comments to bishops primariy, admonishing them to instruct their priests so they in turn can preach Catholic sexual ethics from the pulpit.  Listen to this key point at the 9:35 mark, "once you affirm contraception, there's almost no way not to end up in fornication."  Two minutes later he says, "you can't have a prophetic voice unless you address this issue."

One important "aside".  Many good Catholic pro-life people do wax nostalgic about the 1950s, as though going back to a society such as that is preferable to what we have today.  Listen at the 27:00 mark as Dr Brenner exposes that wish as the dangerous fantasy that it is.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye! The Messiah Most Miserable Is Frustrated!

The Messiah Most Miserable has made an utter mess of our economy (and yes, Boehner and the RINO cabal gave him a pass on this!).  Now guess what?  He's frustrated!  Not only that, he's very frustrated!  I mean he's wealy, wealy, weally fwustwated!!   Awww!

How does he think we feel?  I will say this, though.  We as a society have flouted God's laws.  We have allowed contraception and its attendant evil of abortion to destroy tiny people and undermine the purpose of marriage.   We are allowing perversion to assume the same moral legitmacy reserved for marriage between one man and one woman.  It should be no surprise that we should feel the economic
consequences of such rampant sin.

This link will take you to the video.

Reducing The "Need" For Abortion??

How often have you heard so-called "moderates" scold pro-life activists, saying that we must "first reduce the need for abortion"?  Usually we hear that pap from the so-called "common ground" bunch.

Right now I can just imagine my progressive fan-club getting all a-twitter about me being such a "right-wing fanatic" (or other euphamism of their choice) and perhaps some of the pro-life "kinder and gentler" crowd getting all nervous.  They might even think that "reducing the need for abortion" is a pretty darned-good idea!  If they've swallowed that bait, then they've just shot their credibility down the crapper.

Morally speaking, the object of a legitimate need must be a moral good in and of itself - or at least morally neutral.  One would never dream of trying to "reduce the need for bank robbery", would they?  No one in their right mind would consider bank robbery to be a true "need".  One would reduce bank robbery by incarcerating the perpetrators.  Similarly there is no way that sane people can equate baby-murder with a legitimate need.

We need to be very clear about this.  We also need to be equally clear that we cannot seek "common ground" with those who support such a heinous, barbaric evil such as abortion.

Carhart's Slush Fund

Thanks to Jill Stanek for doing the research on this little matter.  I'll link to her article, so the wheel doesn't get distorted in the re-invention (if you get my drift).  It turns out that Carhart, along with wife and daughter, are officers of the Abortion Access Fund, Inc.  Tax-deductible donations are solicited for it, as the AAF is touted as being a "501(c)3" charity.  Funny thing, tough!  Neither the IRS nor Guidestar has record of this organization as being a "501(c)3" charity!  There is no record of the AAF filing the annual IRS Form 990.  If it was organized to secure a $350k mortgage, it surely attained the minimum goal that would cause its filing of the Form 990 to be mandatory.  So where is it???

Speaking of the pro-abortion Summer of Choice, a commenter on the Stanek piece posted this picture that is all-too-typical of pro-abortion supporters.  Observe.

This is outside the Mother Seton church.  That is the Gabriel Project sign, familiar to many pro-life people.  Yes, the sign was vandalized.  Are we surprised?  Of course not!  People who celebrate the murder of tiny babies will also celebrate all sorts of childish and destructive behavior - and perhaps commit those actions themselves.

I understand that for many good people, the Summer of Mercy was their first foray into the world of pro-life activism.  I pray it is not their last.  We need you to help save lives.  Remember - while you were out there this past week, no little children had their brains torn from their heads.  Come out often!

John Kerry Asks Mainstream Media To Censor Conservative People

It's right here.  Why any intelligent people vote for him is beyond me, as he doesn't even bother to disguise his collosal arrogance.  This is what progressives think of decent people.  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

State Of Maryland Toys With Abortion Clinic Regulations

The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is toying with the idea of regulating the abortion mills in the State of Maryland for the first time.  I've got to say it's a start, albeit a weak one.  This Gazette article states that the proposed regulations would subject abortion centers to the same standards that bind other outpatient surgical centers.  Now think about that sentence for a moment.  What it's saying is that hitherto, abortion mills have not had to meet nearly the same standards as other places that perform surgery.

Read further down the article.  The oversight of abortion mills has been so remiss that the MD Dept of Health doesn't even know where the mills are located.  A department spokesperson admits that they have to look them up in the Yellow Pages.  Well, you have to start somewhere, I suppose - but what of those shady joints who don't advertise their presence to the public?  Guess they'll just fall by the wayside, I suppose!

The Stephen Chase Brigham debacle of last year seems to have been the straw that broke the camel's back; the State of Maryland realized that they could not ignore these quacks any longer and maintain some semblance of credibility.

The proposed regulations are on line.  The Department is taking public comments on them through August 19th.  Here is information on how to make your opinions known.  My personal take is that they are so weak as to be useless.  There is too much allowance therein for the "fox guarding the hen house", so to speak.  But please read them and draw your own conclusions.

Contraception And Salvation - Third of Four Parts

I post here the third of the four-part series presented by Real Catholic TV of Dr Martin Brenner's reflections on contraception.

When he says, "most people are saved because of the dynamic requirements that they respond to in marriage," I don't know how that jives wth the revelations that so many saints claim to have received, that state that those saved are a very small percentage of the entire collection of humanity that has ever and will ever exist.  Of course, both sets of opinions are precisely that - opinions.  They don't define any dogma, one way or the other.  I suppose, too, that according to Dr Brenner, salvation would depend on the quality of response to marriage - meaning, of course, that the usage of contraception in marriage would seriously endanger and perhaps render impossible the salvation of the couple.  Our Lady of Fatima did tell the children that most marriages did not please God - and she was talking of marriages circa 1917.  One can only imagine how she would deplore the state of marriages today!

The clip is below.  At the end, Dr. Brenner gives a bit of a "teaser" for the final segment, which I'll post next weekend.  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

Rosary Procession At Summer Of Mercy

Due to some scheduling conflicts and annoying technological glitches (which I now just solved), I just now got the footage from Sunday evening's Rosary Procession uploaded.  There is some good news, which my commenter from the post previous to this pointed out.

Because of the Christian witness that will be at this place of death this week, the abortion mill will be closed.  Ladies and gentlemen, that is a victory in and of itself.  For a little over a week, the blood of babies will not be shed.  That office park will be free - albeit ever so briefly - from the stench of murder and death.  Little babies will be spared a gruesome death.  Operation Rescue has more to say on this.

Now here's my video of the Rosary Procession from three evenings ago.  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.
